Hormones where discovered long time ago but seldom do we consider them for weight loss or weight gain.

The whole world has been running behind calories to be blamed for weight gain or weight loss. However, now the times are changing. Gradually we have started realizing that hormones is all that plays a role in weight gain or weight loss.

 

Lets make this a little interesting.

 

Let me share a short story with you. Mr. Swamy and His wife were a typical south Indian family. Where strong believers of healthy living and did not eat much junk except twice or thrice in six months.

 

However, they had 2 children Ajay and Virat. They are 2 young lads who are in their 20’s. Both of them are extremely active children and are into some sort of sports activity on weekends. Ajay, is a lean boy with well built shoulders and Virat is a chubby boy with a good amount of fat around his belly.

 

Both have similar lifestyle. They both eat vegetarian food and eat junk like pani puri, pizza’s, burgers and cold drinks quite often. Now, the question is why is Ajay leaner and Virat fat?

 

Here is where the confusion starts. They are children of the same parents, so mostly carry similar genes (may have some difference). But both eat the same breakfast, lunch and dinner. They both snack out and eat a good amount of junk and aerated drinks.

 

The answer is simple. Their hormones are acting differently. Science has only one answer to this, and that is “It depends on their genes”
